Smiles were wide and bodies were bouncing excitedly when a class of Year One pupils from Heronswood Primary School recently took part in a Multi-skills festival at King Charles High School.

The festival was attended by numerous primary schools within the Kidderminster area and was focused on helping children practice movement skills including; running, jumping, catching, throwing, balancing, agility and co-ordination.

The children had a fantastic time taking part in some of the activities which included: throwing balls and foam javelins at a target, dribbling a ball around a course, balancing over benches, stepping across ladders and jumping over obstacles. Children had the opportunity to rotate around different activities throughout the morning, ensuring everyone participated in each event.

Most importantly, the festival was designed to give children a fun, active and exciting experience. All pupils eagerly expressed how much fun they had, and some even received certificates, chosen by the young leaders who ran the activities. We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future.
