Admissions 20202
Term times

The parents of Heronswood Primary School recently had the opportunity to enjoy ‘Back to School’ sessions with their children.

Parents from Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 were invited in so that they could see the different types of learning activities that their children participate in on a daily basis.

The children loved showing off their classroom environments and parents were able to spent time learning about their child’s day and the different learning styles the children use on a regular basis. Parents were able to see how their child interacted with their peers, how Maths and English is taught in school and how teachers use a wide range of activities and strategies to engage children.

Mrs Pierpoint, Head of School said, “Due to the changes in the National Curriculum, it is so important that we keep our Parents and Carers up to date with what happens in our classrooms. Learning is at the heart of everything our teachers do and we want to share this love for learning with our families.  We were delighted by the number of parents and grandparents who took time out of their busy schedules to come along and be with their children in the classrooms.”

In the parent feedback it was stated that; the teachers had excellent relationships with the children, that the learning was broken down to encourage children to participate and that the demonstrations enabled plenty of pupil involvement.

If you would like to come for a look around Heronswood Pre-School or the main school then please phone the school office - 01562 69750.  We are also holding open days on Thursday 1st December (1:30pm-6:30pm) and Saturday 3rd December (9:30am-12:30pm).
