Admissions 20202
Term times

This year is the first year that our Year Two children at Heronswood Primary will sit the brand new SAT’s tests which are linked directly to the National Curriculum. In September 2014 the government introduced a new and updated national curriculum framework which your children started when they were in Year One.

If your child is currently in Year Two, they will be the first cohort of pupils to take part in the new tests and the first to receive the new style of reporting results.  This will be in relation to Age Related Expectations (ARE).  We currently believe these tests will be held during the last two weeks of May, before the children break up for half term.

We are attaching a very useful presentation which we used at our Year 2 Parents Meeting.  Please take the time to look through as it is very informative.

Please Click here to read the presentation and see example questions.

Here are some comments from parents who attended the Year 2 SATs meeting:

“Good information about what the pupils are expected to know.”

“Very well explained.”

“Very informative – some good pointers on how to support my child.”
