Admissions 20202
Term times

The Year 5 and Year 6 children at Heronswood have been learning all about Natural Art over this last term.  The topic started with a special visit to The Wyre Forest and an amazing visit from an Ice Sculpture, who came into school.

Year 5 & 6 artFrom the initial stimulus of the visits, the children then chose which direction they wanted their topic to take.  The Year 5 children did a big focus on animation, The Year 5/6 children looked at Andy Goldsworthy, while the Year 6 children looked at different artists who use nature as their inspiration.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic which cumulated in an awesome art exhibition of performance poetry, dance and music.  The children have worked really hard to produce their final performance pieces which were enjoyed by lots of parents, friends and family in the school hall.  Parents were then invited back into the classrooms so they could enjoy and fully appreciate what their children have been working on this term.

The children said, “We loved showing our fabulous art work and hard work to our families and friends. It is really nice to be able to show what we have spent a whole term working on.”

“It was really exciting, as we got to have photos with family members using a photo frame! We could pose however we liked.” Nathan, Year 6.
