Read more...Just after the October half term holiday major building work and renovations started at Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School where the plan is to build four brand new classrooms. These new classrooms will be used by our Year 1 and Year 2 children which will enable the old mobiles to be removed from the playground.

They had a week full of events which included teaching the children to identify the different types of bullying, how bullying affects different people and where to go to seek help.

Read more...Our Year 6 children have just returned from an amazing visit to London, where they took in a whistle stop tour of all the main sites. We were very lucky with the weather and although it was cold, the sun shone all day. The main focus of this visit was the pre-arranged visit to the Houses of Parliament, which was the final stop of the day.

Read more...This year the children in Year 5 and Year 6 designed and made their own stalls. They included pin the nose on Rudolph, the sock game, plate raffle, reindeer food and choco cards. In addition, the Heronswood Helpers also ran a café, a bottle tombola, a chocolate tombola and a cake stall.

There was a happy and relaxed feel as people explored all the stalls that were on offer and with the sun shinning on us, we couldn’t have asked for any more. It was lovely to see lots of our families, friends, relatives and local residents soaking up the carnival atmosphere.
Read more...On Thursday this week all of our Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 children came to school in their PE kits ready for sports day. We managed to complete all of the events and the races during the morning session and the weather was perfect not too hot and dry the whole time.

Read more...On Monday 31st March 2014 Year 4 went on a residential trip to Condover Hall for 2 nights. On route we stopped at Wroxeter, which was the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. We explored the remains of the Bath house as well as viewing a replica of a Roman town house. We even tried on some Roman clothes. After a picnic lunch we continued on our journey down Watling Street!
