Some furry friends called in for a fun afternoon with the Year One children at Heronswood Primary School earlier this week, to help support learning about animals and the environments they live in.
Children loved spending time with Theo and Leo the geckos, and Pascal the chameleon was a colourful hit. Everyone was able to either hold or stroke a variety of sociable animals during the afternoon. Other critters included a hissing cockroach, tenrec and a not-so-smelly skunk!
Mrs Pierpoint, Headteacher at Heronswood Primary School said, “We’ve loved welcoming our two, four and six-legged guests to school. We would like to thank ‘The Animal Man’ for coming in and inspiring our children through this memorable experience.”
The teachers were sure that the keen eared owl could hear the children’s brains ticking during the visit!
