During the summer term, children from across the whole school, including Pre-School participated in a competitive sports day organised by Mr Partridge, our Year 3 teacher.

This year saw our new format being used again to ensure that all children had the opportunity to participate in a couple of races on the track as well as other athletic activities in a round robin format.  All the children were competing to score points for their colour team.

Pre-School, Reception and Key Stage 1 children enjoyed a number of round robin events including touch rugby and agility ladders. On the track the children participated in running races, egg and spoon race and the sack race.

In Key Stage 2, the children participated in a whole range of athletic events which the children had been practising for a number of weeks with Ron, the athletics coach.  On the day the children participated in javelin, standing high jump, hurdles, agility ladders and standing long jump.

Parents, families and friends stood on the side line cheering all the children on.  There was a fantastic atmosphere the whole day which was only dampened slightly by a quick shower that passed through as everyone was tucking into their picnic lunches.  Following the Key Stage 2 races there was even time for a quick parent’s race, which was very competitive indeed.  Well done to all the children and parents who took part in sports day.  Thank you to everyone who came along to watch and support and also make the day one to remember.
