Children from three Worcestershire Schools benefited from a Tour of the Houses of Parliament and mini Tour of London last Thursday 24th September 2015.

St Clement’s Primary CofE in Worcester, Heronswood Primary in Kidderminster and Cutnall Green First School in Droitwich joined together to tour Parliament and learn more about our history by taking part in a workshop exploring how members of the public have made an impact on Parliament.

The children were delighted with their visit and particularly enjoyed viewing the Throne Room and the, “Yes & No chamber” that reminded them very much of voting in their School Council.  They also liked the idea of having their own drawer to send letters to the Queen.  Another highlight to their trip was a walking tour taking in all the important sights including; Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street.

Kathryn Brunt, Executive Principal of Rivers Academy Trust said “We were delighted to facilitate this collaborative trip and many of the children on the trip had never visited London before.  All children from the three schools enjoyed getting to know each other and seeing the sites of the capital city.  After the success of the trip, we are hoping to facilitate more of these collaborative outings in the future

The Rivers Academy CofE Trust is a group of three good and outstanding schools spread across the county; all varying in size, economic and social backgrounds, however all sharing the same vision which is to ensure that each and every child leaves us fulfilling their maximum potential, and ready for the next stage of their learning journey at secondary school.
