Just after the October half term holiday major building work and renovations started at Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School where the plan is to build four brand new classrooms.  These new classrooms will be used by our Year 1 and Year 2 children which will enable the old mobiles to be removed from the playground.

The initial work of digging out the site has taken two weeks, with a huge amount of soil being removed.  The new foundations and new drainage systems have now been laid, waiting for the steel frame to arrive in a weeks’ time.

Once the new steel beams arrive the new build will then start to take shape and it will become clear where the new classrooms are.  As part of this same work one of our old classroom is being turned into a new cloakroom and also a new toilet block for our children.

All the works are due to be completed by the end of May so we are very hopeful that our Year 1 and Year 2 children will be able to move straight into their new rooms after the May half term holiday.
