On Friday 1st July we took almost 120 children from Heronswood Primary School to Croome Court, near Worcester, where we performed alongside the other 3 schools in our Rivers Academy Trust; Great Witley, St Clements and Cutnall Green.

For the past 6 weeks, the children at all four school have been busily practising a medley of songs with Mrs Evans the singing teacher, ready for the grand performance on the huge stage.

Children from Reception up to Year 6 took part in this amazing event and even though it was a day of mixed weather the children had a fantastic time singing as a huge group, listening to others performing including professional choirs as well as watching the Beat Breakerz, who did some excellent dancing.

A number of parents from Heronswood and the other school also came along and supported the event which really added to the atmosphere.  Parents were also singing along, clapping and even dancing to the beat, as the children sang their hearts out.

One of our parents, Mrs Rizos said, “Just wanted to say what a fabulous time we had at Riversfest on Friday. It didn’t matter about the cold or the rainstorm…. To see all those little faces enjoying an amazing experience made it all worthwhile for us. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the experience and is still telling us little stories about the day. Please pass on my thanks to Mrs Evans and to everyone at Heronswood that made this possible.”

Another parent, Mrs Wilcox said, “I'm so glad my son took part in Riversfest, it was a fantastic experience for him and his friends to be part of. The atmosphere despite the typical summer weather was brilliant.”
