On the evening of Wednesday 8th June, Heronswood Primary School Hall was transformed into a TV studio where children were given the opportunity to perform in their first, ‘HERONSWOOD HAS TALENT’ show.

Excitement had been building over the previous two weeks, where – in the first round - children in each class had performed for their friends.  Teachers then had the agonising decision to choose three acts per class to move on to the next round.

In a nail-biting semi-final, children then auditioned in front of the school’s Senior Leaders.  They were impressed with the amazing comedians, magicians, dancers, singers, musicians and martial artists who performed from across the whole school - Reception to Year Six.

Sixteen acts earned a place in the prestigious final. The hall was bursting with proud parents, grandparents, siblings and friends who couldn’t wait to see the hidden talents at Heronswood.  The audience were not disappointed! It was a thoroughly entertaining evening where the range of talent totally blew the audience away.

At the end of the show – the winners were decided by public vote. Massive congratulations to: third place Tilly (Year 5) and Reece (Year 2) and second place Ethan and Joanne (Year 1).

The public awarded first place to Clayton (Year 6) for his outstanding cover of Seven Years by Lucas Graham.

Mrs Kingston, who compered the event said, “Clayton was amazing! The audience were mesmerised by him throughout his performance. He truly is a star in the making - watch out Simon Cowell!’
