On the 2nd of June Miss Shaw’s class had the pleasure of meeting Prince Benjamin of Heronswood Forest when he came to deliver a royal invitation inviting all the children to the King and Queen’s ball, which was to be held on Friday 5th June.

The children spent time making crowns and designing their royal outfits and were so excited to be going to the royal ball. They wrote reply letters to Prince Benjamin accepting the invitation and just could not wait for Friday to arrive.

Children came to school in their royal attire on Friday morning, ready to dance the afternoon away. They were lucky enough to watch some royal dancers waltzing as well as joining in themselves. Later in the ball the children sat down for a royal feast where they enjoyed cakes and fruit juice.

At the end of the ball they were presented with a royal coin as a memento of the occasion which they will get to cherish forever.  A great day was had by all and the children are now excited about planning their own ball.

On Monday 8th June the children thought it would be a good idea to write about the special occasion for all of the grown up’s at home to understand what had happened that day, as well as drawing themselves at the royal ball.

Have a look at the pictures below to see what they had to say…
